Red Sole Imitators - Zara Defeats Louboutin In Trademark Case
Christian Louboutin,  been trying to defend his red sole trademark for a while now. He is certainly seeing red after a  French court just gave high street retailer Zara the official go ahead to slap red soles on whatever they like. They even ordered Louboutin to pay Zara 2,500 euros ($3,600) as compensation.  This decision doesnât have any authority outside France.
[notice]âThereâs no such thing as a global trademark, so donât expect a fast-fashion outlet near you to suddenly paint its shoe department red. [/notice]
We can certainly highlight that Zaraâs version can’t compare when it comes to looking as expensive as a Louboutin. From a distance or to an untrained eye, a red sole is pretty instantly recognizable as Louboutin. So is red dead for Loubouton? In the scheme of things it must be very hard for a label to realise that the colour red comes in many different forms. However no one can ever replace the amazing shoe designs and red sole brand as Christian Louboutin. I’m a fan of the real thing not imitations. Â On a fashion front isn’t everyone copying everyones style these days?
According to Susan Scafidi, Academic Director at Fordhamâs Fashion Law Institute, itâs all still up in the air at this point.
It’s still exciting to know that the red sole is slowly going to creep into Zara  stores and we all know how powerful they are. I’m sure when they come out with the red sole shoe, it will be like the running of the bulls.

Shoes - How Much Does An Average Women Spend In A Lifetime?
How many pairs of shoes do you own? Glamour magazine says the average woman will buy 469 pairs of shoes in her lifetime.
The magazine also says the average woman will spend $25,000 on shoes during her lifetime. It averages out to about $53 per pair, which seems a little more reasonable. I think this is a conservative figure. When you think about how much some of the top name brands cost these days ie: Christian Louboutin.
The average woman maintains about 19 pairs of shoes at any given time, which includes about three pairs of heels; six pairs of flip flops, sandals, ballet pumps or wedges; three pairs of boots and four pairs of âfoxy-styleâ shoes for a night out. Women also have two pairs of shoes for work and another two pair of randomly purchased shoes.
When do we begin buying shoes âon our own?â Around the age of 14, according to the magazine. After that, we typically buy about seven pairs of shoes a year for the rest of our lives.
I’m trying to make a mental list of all the shoes I own, and it certainly exceeds 19. I have a long way to go before we catch up to Imelda Marcosâ count of 2,700 pairs of shoes. Dare I say it can you recall how many you have given away? Eeeeeeek
More concerning I’ve exceeded the average number of shoes weâre supposed to purchase in one year. And itâs only May.

Mens - How Do I Wear Tassel Loafers This 2012?
The appeal of tassel loafers for men this season is apparent. Loafers are an adaptable shoe to both casual and formal outfits. So you’re wondering, how do I wear tassel loafers?
- Seasonal wear : Loafers are designed for summer so they’re acceptable at picnics or relaxed evenings out.
- Casual attire: Whether you buy black, brown, or suede, we suggest you bare some ankle for as long as possible, then pull on a pair of socks and roll your loafers straight into fall.
- Socks :With shorts, loafers should be worn without socks. With pants, loafers should be worn with dark colored socks.
- Do not: wear loafers with short pants or white socks.
- Stay away: from jeans when wearing loafers
- You would be: mistaken to think that tassel loafers cannot be worn with a suit.

Manolo Blahnik - Spring Summer 2012 Shoe Collection
Manolo Blahnik’s label came about because he had a vision of shoes and how womenâs feet should look when wearing them. Blahnik never thought about practicality in his designs and for this reason his shoes are now famous for being  impossibly high with an unbelievably thin heel. These shoes have become footwear icons, known to fashionistas simply as Manolos. People call his shoes  ”limousine shoes,” on the assumption that you can wear them only if you never actually have to walk anywhere. Mr Blahnik understands all too well the power of a woman in high heels.
”People walk differently in high heels”, Mr Blahnik has said. ”Shall I call it suggestive? Shall I call it sensuous? You walk in a sensuous way. Your body sways to a different kind of tempo.”
What’s exciting is that in 2013 Manolo Blahnik will celebrate 40 years in shoe design. I can’t wait for that and I will make sure I book a taxi.
